Rooms and facilities

Lockers

Day lockers are located in the basement; from the entrance, turn right, pass the café, and they are before the entrance to the reading room on the ground floor. The lockers can be secured with a self-selected access code and must be cleared before the building closes.

Study Spaces in the reading room

The central library offers more than 500 study spaces distributed over four floors with sockets available at most of them. Standing desk attachments and sitting balls are at your disposal.
The most important rules for the freely accessible reading rooms are: Using the telephone and food and beverages of any sort except water in sealable bottles is prohibited in all reading rooms. You are permitted to enter the reading rooms with your personal apparel and bags.
The reading rooms on the 3rd floor house special collections with valuable holdings. The workspaces here must be reserved in advance.

Computer workspaces, Wi-Fi

Computers for research and access to electronic resources can be found on the ground floor, both in the entrance area and in the mezzanine level of the ground floor reading room, as well as on the first floor by the reading room. Wi-Fi is available throughout the library. Information on usage details can be found here.

Group Study Room

On the second floor, there is a reading room for group work. Tables are available for groups of various sizes, and conversation is allowed. Reservations are not required.

Room for parents with children

On the ground floor, to the left of the elevators, there is a room available for parents with children. It includes a changing table, a sofa, play mats, toys, coloring supplies, and two computer workstations. The key can be obtained from the information desk or the reading room on the first floor.p>

Copying, printing, scanning

Copy machines, which also support scanning and printing, are located on every floor. Further information on usage conditions and prices can be found here.

Food and Drink

Eating and drinking (except for water in clear, sealable bottles) is not permitted in the library. For refreshments and breaks, please use the café in the entrance area.
