FAQ
You can use e-journals, databases and e-books subscribed to by the university library from anywhere, even from home, if you are a member of the University of Frankfurt am Main.
Go directly to login
- You need a valid Goethe-Card to log in
(Exception: with the provider Ebook Central you also need a valid library card and library password) - This login is sufficient; you do not need any additional software.
- Please note:
For legal reasons, computers that are in the university′s VPN or have the HRZ proxy set up are treated like computers that are located outside the campus; i.e. in this case you must use the UB login to be recognized as a member of the university.
To log in, please use your HRZ account.
If you have problems with your password, the Library Password information page will help you. Or contact the Central Library′s Information Desk.
How do you know that you are still logged in?
Auf den Seiten der Bibliothek erscheint das
Symbol Logout symbol appears on the library pages at the top right of the page as long as you are logged in.
You can now follow all links: As long as proxy.ub.uni-frankfurt.de appears in the URL in the address bar of your browser , you are logged in and are recognized by the publishers servers as a member of the University of Frankfurt.
Exceptions?
As long as you are logged in, you can use all of the university library′s resources, with the exception of a few that are restricted to the campus. In the database overview, these have the addition "only on campus" next to the yellow traffic light.
Can URLs be cited?
After you have logged in, you will see the documents you have accessed under a different URL than users who can view these documents without logging in. When citing URLs, please remember that only a relatively small group of people has access to proxy.ub.uni-frankfurt.de, so such URLs are generally not citable.
