The Special Collections Reading Room

The central library's valuable collections on Africa, Frankfurt, Judaica, Music and Theatre as well as early prints and the archival holdings are made available at the Special Collections Reading Room.

Our most manuscript holdings can be consulted either at the Manuscript Reading Room or the Special Collections Reading Room. Please refer to the specific item you wish to view.

Finding the reading room

The Special Collections Reading Room is located on the 3rd floor of the Central Library at the Bockenheim Campus.

Open shelves

There is a small reference library in the reading room and two sections with open shelves containing additional bibliographies, handbooks and journals on the subjects covered by the reading room:

• The open shelves Music and Theatre can be reached via the Special Collections Reading Room.
• Open access area Africa, Frankfurt, Judaica
